Continuing Your Reiki Education

Reiki is not a race

We in the West gave a tendency to want to rush to that next stage, reach the top of the mountain.
While there is nothing wrong with wanting to do this, sometimes we miss the forest because we are focused only on the tree (goal) in front of us.

Reiki can be viewed the same way. How quickly can the student go from being a beginner to Master/Teacher? It depends on the response of the senior teacher.
Some teachers ask their students to wait the minimum of a few days or even 21 days. Other teachers ask their students to wait 6 months for the beginner and longer for the higher levels.
I know of teachers who require their Master/Teacher candidates to apprentice with them for a year before letting them teach on their own.

Reiki is like a delicate flower. As we slowly peel back the petals we learn to appreciate the subtleness that Reiki can teach us.

1) Are you taking to heart the Reiki Gokai / Precepts?
2) Have you meditated on them and explored what they have to tell you?
3) Has this awareness shown you where you might be stuck or what are your hot buttons?
4) Have you committed yourself to daily-self practice?
5) Are you comfortable explaining what Reiki is to others?
6) How much experience do you have with sensing Byosen?
